Emily Abrantes
Emily is a Managing Director with Fifth Third’s Healthcare Investment Banking group, a part of Fifth Third Securities, Inc. (“FTS”), leading the Higher Education practice which focuses on academic medical centers, higher education institutions and other not-for-profit institutions. Emily has more than two decades of experience serving a broad range of public and private institutions in healthcare and higher education. She has provided advisory services to a broad range of private and public universities across the country.
Emily advises healthcare and higher education clients, including academic medical centers, on capital strategy matters such as capital structure evaluation, risk analysis, rating agency strategy, and transaction execution. She also assists clients in the development of capital policies to guide organizations’ long-term debt strategy, which includes debt capacity analysis, liquidity optimization, and risk assessment.
Prior to joining Fifth Third as a member of H2C Securities Inc., Emily served as a Managing Director for Prager & Company, a firm that specializes in financial advisory services for higher education institutions. She also formerly served as a director at PFM in the firm's higher education and healthcare groups.
Emily received her undergraduate degree in economics and political science from Furman University. She is a FINRA registered Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50) and Municipal Advisor Principal (Series 54). She is also a Municipal Securities Representative (Series 52), an Investment Banking Registered Representative (Series 79) and holds a Series 63 license.
