James McGinnis

Jim is a Managing Director with Fifth Third’s Energy Transition Investment Banking group, a part of Fifth Third Securities, Inc. (“FTS”), and has advised, invested in, and served as an executive in energy and power companies for over three decades with a particular focus on renewable energy. His direct advisory experience includes prominent mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises in the U.S. and global electric power and natural gas markets. In the last fifteen years, Jim has been focused on energy transition investments and initiatives, and is currently engaged in significant capital raises and strategic partnership formations as they relate to the expansion of renewable energy, storage, and related investments in the U.S. Prior to joining FTS, Jim was a Managing Director at Solomon Partners, and was previously a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Inc. and an Associate and Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Before joining Solomon Partners, Jim spent just over ten years as a private investor at AIG, Harbinger Capital Partners, and Halcyon Asset Management. He also served for just under two years as CEO of Mainstream Renewable Capital, the financial and investments arm of Dublin, Ireland-based Mainstream Renewable Power, a global wind and solar power developer. Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard University, both with honors.
