Colby Schwartz

Colby is a Managing Director with Fifth Third’s Financial Sponsors Group, a part of Fifth Third Securities, Inc. (“FTS”) where he advises private equity clients on mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions for their prospective and existing portfolio companies. Colby also leads the group’s middle market sponsor coverage team of five senior investment bankers, driving the strategy for originating M&A and capital markets opportunities for middle market and lower middle market private equity firms that align with Fifth Third’s industry and product expertise. Colby joined Fifth Third in 2018 as a Managing Director and has over 25 years of investment banking experience. Prior to Fifth Third, he held senior positions at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (“STRH”) and McColl Partners. He began covering private equity groups at STRH in 2011 and co-founded the firm’s Middle Market Financial Sponsor Advisory group. At McColl Partners, Colby executed M&A transactions for clients across a variety of industries, including industrials, business services, and financial services. He began his career in the Investment Banking division of The Robinson-Humphrey Company. Colby received a Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
